Looking for more than short-term help? Circles is a long-term support program designed to help you build stability, set goals, and grow with a strong support system.
Circles combines goal setting, skill-building, and community support to help you work toward long-term stability.
Steps:
Circles is a longer-term program (about 18 months) with weekly Tuesday evening meetings. Training takes place during the first 14 weeks.

Friends In Deed offers two main paths of support: short-term Essential Services—help with rent, utilities, deposits, transportation, and furniture for neighbors facing a temporary hardship—and Circles, a long-term program that pairs you with a support team to build lasting financial stability.
We provide gently used furniture and household essentials such as beds, dressers, and tables through our furniture program. We are generally unable to provide large appliances. Contact us to check current availability.
Essential Services is available to residents of Washtenaw County experiencing a temporary financial hardship. Bring a photo ID, proof of address, and any bills or notices related to your request, and our staff will review your situation with you.
Response times vary depending on demand and the type of help you need. After you submit a request, our staff will review it and may follow up for additional information before letting you know the next steps.
Unlike short-term Essential Services, Circles is an ongoing program (about 18 months) focused on long-term change. You are matched with a support team, attend weekly meetings, and work toward personal financial goals with mentorship and community behind you.
